Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 2, 2026
Directional Labs respects your privacy. This policy describes how we handle data for Unblock My Sudoku.
Our business model is simple: We sell software tools, not user data.
1. Data Collection and Usage
- No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit your name, email, contact information, or device identifiers.
- On-Device Processing: Unblock my Sudoku runs entirely on your device. The computation for puzzle image processing, optical character recognition (OCR), and hint generation happens locally—not on a remote server.
- Optional Product Improvement: To improve our character recognition models, we may ask for your explicit consent to upload photos of your Sudoku puzzles. These images are anonymous, contain no personal information, and are used solely to train our models across different handwriting styles, paper types, and lighting conditions. No images are ever uploaded without your active, opt-in permission.
2. Device Permissions
To provide core functionality, Unblock my Sudoku requires access to your device's camera:
- Camera: Used to capture images of your paper Sudoku puzzles so the app can analyze the board and provide hints. We do not record or analyze camera feeds in the background.
3. Data Retention and Security
Because the core app functions entirely offline, there is no personal data to retain or delete. If you explicitly opt in to share your puzzle photos for product improvement, those images are transmitted securely without any user or device identifiers. They are anonymous and stored solely for machine learning training.
4. Third-Party Services
We do not use third-party analytics SDKs (such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or Mixpanel) in the Unblock my Sudoku app. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to outside parties.
