Directional Labs (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle data for our application, Directional Camera.
Our business model is simple: We sell software tools, not user data.
1. Data Collection and Usage
- No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit your name, email, contact information, or device identifiers.
- On-Device Processing: All sensor data (GPS location, magnetometer readings, gyroscope data) and image processing happens locally on your device.
- No Cloud Storage: We do not have servers that store your photos or location history. Your photos remain in your local Apple Photos library unless you explicitly choose to share them.
2. Device Permissions
To provide core functionality, Directional Camera requires access to specific sensors on your device. We use these permissions strictly for the purposes listed below:
- Camera: Used solely to display the live Augmented Reality overlay and capture imagery. We do not record or analyze camera feeds in the background.
- Location Services: Used to display GPS coordinates, altitude, and azimuth on the camera overlay and to save this metadata into the photos you capture.
- Photo Library: Used strictly to save the photos you capture to your device’s Camera Roll. We do not read or scan your existing photo library.
3. Data Retention and Deletion
Because we do not collect, transmit, or store any user data on our servers, there is no personal data to retain or delete. All data generated by the app (such as photos and their metadata) is stored locally on your device and is entirely under your control. You may delete this data at any time by deleting the photos from your Apple Photos library.
4. Third-Party Services
We do not use third-party analytics SDKs (such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or Mixpanel) in the Directional Camera app. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to outside parties.
